Perthes Disease

Perthes Disease is uncommon condition which affects the hip of children’s between 4-6 years of age. Usual course of the disease is self limiting but if treatment is not sought than there are high chances that it will lead to damage to femoral head.

6 year male child with Perthes disease of right hip. Came with complains of limping and difficulty in walking.Operated with right femur osteotomy to keep the head contained in acetabulum. After surgery child is fine and walking without limp.
